BLUR
Drawing from the traditions of 19th century Realism and its direct observation of the modern world, BLUR translates our experience of time during significant life events into the timeless medium of paint. In the relentless hustle of work and daily responsibilities, it often feels as though we are bound by the relentless grip of time. The ticking hands of the clock dictate every passing moment, and society expects us to constantly monitor the minutes and hours. However, during a pivotal life event, time can mysteriously dissolve, leaving us with a fleeting sense of its passage. These evocative paintings offer an alternative way of engaging with the world, inviting us to slow down, pause, and deeply contemplate my personal journey through the first ten months of parenthood. Through the vivid use of color, bold gestural strokes, and impressive scale, BLUR captures these profound moments of parenthood.
